Modern Equipment
Oil-Burning Equipment Is Highly Efficient
Oilheat manufacturers are building advanced equipment that delivers outstanding fuel efficiency. The best new systems have efficiency ratings (AFUE) of 86% to 92%.
Modulating Burners Deliver Even Heat and Use Less Energy
Many new Oilheat systems are equipped with modulating burners that can automatically change the size of the flame to match the demand for heat. On cold days when your home or building needs robust heat, the burner use a larger flame. When the weather is moderately cold, the burner uses a smaller flame that conserves fuel and delivers longer heating intervals and more even heat.
Variable-Speed Blowers Eliminate Temperature Swings
New Oilheat furnaces are often installed with energy-saving variable speed blowers. Rather than run at top speed every time and create sudden rushes of hot or cold air, these intelligent blowers deliver even heat for more balanced comfort. They also use less electricity than traditional blower motors.
Electronic Controls Reduce Energy Consumption
New and late-model Oilheat systems can be equipped (or retrofitted) with microprocessor-based controls that improve system performance through more intelligent cycle management. When used in a retrofit installation, these controls improve system efficiency by 10% or more.
