Dear Mr. Garside:

In the past you have contacted me regarding the National Oilheat Research Alliance Act. I wanted to follow up and let you know that I have joined nine of my Senate colleagues in cosponsoring S. 1672, the National Oilheat Research Alliance Reauthorization Act of 2009.

Like you, I believe that we must promote policies that encourage efficiency and conservation as a way to address our nation's energy needs. Regarding S. 1672, this legislation would reauthorize the National Oilheat Research Alliance Act through February 6, 2011. As introduced on September 15, 2009, S. 1672 has been referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, of which I am not a member, where it awaits further consideration.

I understand the importance of this issue to you and many others throughout New Hampshire. Please do not hesitate to get back in touch with me as this legislative process moves forward.
