The Oilheat Masters Course 2008

This 60-hour course is NORA certified for 25 CEUs.

Give your skilled technicians the capacity to improve their knowledge and skills beyond the basics of Oilheat -- to all the specialty areas that can make a significant and positive profit impact for your business.

This "Masters" series of courses is designed for technicians who are ready to expand their skills by learning about the more intricate aspects of Oilheat.

We are bringing in experts from the heating industry. Technicians who successfully complete this program will have a broader understanding of systems and controls and how they work in concert to provide the total value and comfort of oil-fired heating and hot water.

Tony Rufo is the lead instructor. Visiting instructors will focus on their specialty and provide state-of-the-art instruction for each subject. Class size will be limited.

To enhance the training process and demonstrate the coordination between many of the systems and controls under discussion, this program is offered only in its entirety. Single registration for a specific topic will not be permitted.

  • Hot Water Heating Systems, Radiant Heating and Controls
  • Fuel Oil Tanks (Above and Below Ground Installation and Removal, CMR4, CMR9, and NFPA31)
  • Combustion and Oil Burner Controls
  • Multiple Boiler Applications and Modulating Controls
  • Direct Venting, Hydro Air Systems and Indoor Air Quality
  • Power Venting (Sizing, Wiring and Problem Solving)
  • Fuel Pumps (Gravity, Lift Feed Systems, Boost Pumps and Multiple Unit Systems -- Installing, Sizing and Trouble Shooting)
  • Steam Units (Sizing, Piping and Problem Solving)
  • Advanced Controls (Applications and Trouble Shooting)
  • Domestic Hot Water (Trouble Shooting and Sizing for Larger Applications)
  • Radiant Heating (Sizing, Installation and Trouble Shooting)
